Kalima has put a rigorous selection procedure in place to ensure that only high quality titles, recognised as excellent works, by well respected authors, are selected.

Each selection will comprise a mix of literature, academic texts and other writing such as business books. In addition to ensuring that only quality titles are selected, we also take into account the types of titles that will appeal to readers and be commercially successful.

We are using a 5-step selection process:

1. Create a long list based on credible sources of works - e.g. Prize winners, Publisher Series and Bestsellers
2. Cross-check these against existing translated works to begin building a database
3. Define filters - e.g. Classic/Modern/Contemporary, Genre Balance (literature, bibliography)
4. Apply those filters
5. Group and select titles to be translated
